Tip
Which blade, which core bit for which material?
The main rules for choosing well. Every job is different: if in doubt, we'll advise you by phone.
| Material | Cutting blade | Core drill bit |
|---|---|---|
| Reinforced concrete, hard concrete | Laser-welded segmented blade, soft bond (floor saw, wall saw or angle grinder) | Wet core bit with laser-welded segments |
| Asphalt, tarmac, green concrete | Hard-bond segmented blade with undercut protection segments | Hard-bond wet core bit |
| Granite, hard stone | Soft-bond turbo or segmented blade, ideally wet | Wet core bit |
| Tile, porcelain stoneware | Extra-thin continuous-rim blade (table saw or angle grinder) | Small dry core bit, or wet for porcelain |
| Brick, block, masonry | Universal segmented or turbo blade | Dry core bit |
| Marble, soft stone | Continuous-rim or turbo blade, for a clean cut | Wet core bit |
- Hard material (granite, reinforced concrete) → soft bond: the diamonds keep renewing and the tool keeps cutting.
- Abrasive material (asphalt, green concrete, sandstone) → hard bond: the segment wears more slowly.
- Wet: faster cutting, cooled tool, less dust. Dry: only with a tool designed for it, in short passes.
